Ryan Koo

Ryan Koo is the writer/director of AMATEUR -- watch and share it online -- and the forthcoming feature film MANCHILD. The screenplay for MANCHILD has been supported by the Independent Feature Project (IFP), the Film Society of Lincoln Center, and the Tribeca Film Institute.

Named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Film, Koo previously co-wrote, directed, shot, and edited the “urban western” web series The West Side, which won the Webby Award for Best Drama Series.

Koo is also the founder of the filmmaking website nofilmschool, which won Total Film’s Best Creative Blog award and helped him raise $125,000 on Kickstarter to fund MANCHILD’s forthcoming production. With the short film AMATEUR  he is hoping to show there is an audience for the feature, and to help with talent and additional finance attachments.
